Having the Right Team

What can an ‘All-Star’ do for your team? Everything!

March and April are great months in the sports world with March Madness, The Masters, and the NFL Draft. Each of these events showcase the “All-Stars” of their specific sport. In the past two weeks we’ve been treated to unbelievable basketball, especially on the women’s side. Step aside Jimmer Fredette from 13 years ago, Caitlin Clark might now be the standard for shooting (and making) half-court 3’s and single handedly taking over a game. The Final Four matchup between Iowa and UConn drew 14.2 million viewers. This was the most-watched ESPN basketball game ever, only to be surpassed two days later when the Finals drew 18.7 million viewers! Let me repeat that – EVER, at any level! As Yahoo Sports reported, “Viewership surpassed every NBA Finals and MLB World Series game last year.” That’s what All-Stars and peak performers can do. They’re game changers, they find ways to win, they never give up.

This past week was The Masters, which averages 4-6x the viewership of a normal PGA Tour event. Even non-golfers tune into the weekend coverage to see the majestic Augusta National course that is the epitome of perfection. Not a blade of grass is out of place. We watch the golf, but it’s the greenskeepers, agronomists, florists, and workers that make the experience what it is for the patrons. They have a team of All-Stars. In Scottie Scheffler’s Green Jacket presentation speech, he thanked his “team” which includes 5+ All-stars that get him ready every week.

It takes a team, even with an individual sport.

This principle is true in all aspects of life whether it’s in sports, business, or a service provider; great teams have All-Stars. If you have a team of All-Stars, business moves forward and great service is provided. Who’s on your team of All-stars that make your life run smoothly? Do you need to go out and find a few All-stars to fill in certain gaps?

I am fortunate to have a team of All-Stars that support me. You might not know these names, but Lorie, Skye, Karley, Rilee, and Jessica make my business successful. They are all All-Stars at what they do and it allows us to run a smooth and clean operation.
